Alice C. Clough

March 9, 1933 — January 17, 2026

Bushnell, FL

Alice Caroline (Jones) Clough, of Bushnell, FL, passed away peacefully at The Rucki Hospice Care Center in Zephyrhills, FL, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the age of 92.

Born in Freetown, NY, on March 9, 1933, Alice was the daughter of the late Harris and Emma Wright Jones. Alice graduated from Marathon High School with the class of 1950. Her employment included positions at Cortland Baking Co. (COBAKO), Bern’s Furniture and Crescent Corset in Cortland. She was also a leather seamstress for Gambella Design & Craft in Willet, NY, making custom leather handbags, and later purchasing the business after relocating to Florida in the early 1970’s. Alice was a drapery seamstress in Holmes Beach, FL and Sarasota, FL. She was also an alterations seamstress for various clothing stores in the Sarasota area.

Alice was a member of the Royal Order of Moose, and spent the last 25 years in the Ridge Manor and Bushnell, Florida area, where she made some of her dearest friends.

Alice was a beautiful, joyful soul, expressing her heart through poems, stitches, and yarn, sewing and knitting warmth into the lives of those she cherished. Time spent with her family was her greatest joy, often filled with laughter from her beloved jokes and treasured stories. She was known for her amazing memory of life’s events, birthdays and anniversaries, and loved to reminisce. She carried music in her spirit and, for as long as she was able, found happiness on the dance floor. Her gentle spirit and enduring love will be forever stitched into the hearts of her family.

She is survived by her daughter Annette (Ted) Dunn of Scipio Center NY, granddaughter Audrey West of Locke, NY, great-granddaughters Olivia and Jenna, Teena Faye and Semaj, two great-great grandsons, family members Les Huskins and Trudy Wise, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Clough, her son Stuart Clough, her daughter Charlene Clough, her brother Ceylon Jones, her sister Florence Irene Biviano, and her grandson James “Jamie” Clough.

The family will plan a celebration of life to be held in the spring. Expressions of sympathy, in memory of Alice may be directed to The Rucki Hospice Care Center, 5760 Dean Dairy Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.
