Amy L. Eltz, 36, of Cincinnatus (Taylor), NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Cortland Regional Medical Center, after becoming ill at work.

Amy was born in Cortland, NY on November 27, 1973 to Russell and Dottie MacLaury Eltz. A 1991 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School, Amy was employed as a food services supervisor at Cortland Care Center for the past year. Prior to that she was employed at Cortland Regional Medical Center Radiology Department for 18 years. Amy was a member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed cooking, baking, and quilting.

She is survived by her parents, Russell and Dottie Eltz of Taylor; a sister, Melissa (Chris King) Knapp of Cincinnatus; a niece, Elizabeth Knapp; and two nephews Jakob Knapp and Ray Kinney. She also leaves behind her aunts and uncles, Roy (Sharon) Eltz, Judy (Jeff Rice) Cass, Eugene (Kathy) MacLaury, Rodney MacLaury, Randy (Kathy) MacLaury, Linda (Clyde) Marris, Mary Cruz, Judy (LeRoy) Garrbrick, Terry (Preston) Ryder, Danny (Adrian) MacLaury, and Tommy Jackson; a special friend, Yancy Waltz; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by an aunt, Charlotte Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Monday, October 4, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Palmer Neumeister officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Amy may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, Central NY Region, 356 N. Midler Ave., Syracuse, NY 13206.
