Barbara M. Standish

Barbara M. Standish, 69, of Marathon, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at her son’s home in Scott, NY.

Born in Cortland, NY, on January 12, 1948, Barb was the daughter of the late Robert and Marguerite White Standish.  A lifelong resident of the area, she was most recently employed at the J.M. Murray Center.  She was a member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Neal Standish of Cortland, Brian (Shawne) Standish of Scott, and Fred Ward of Marathon.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Neal, Jr., Ashley, Robert S., Rosie, Jessica, and Robert C.; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Gary (Gail) Standish of McDonough; sisters, Shirley Shepard of Plymouth, and Bernice White of Pitcher; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating.  Burial will be in Willet Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 2:00 p.m.
