Betty J. Brewer

Betty J. Brewer, 70, of Sherry Lipe Road, Newark Valley, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Lourde's Hospital, Binghamton, NY.

Betty was born in Endicott, NY on December 31, 1938, a daughter of the late Fred and Sylvia Ferguson Harvey. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of the United Methodist Church of Newark Valley. She retired from the Owego Apalachin School District after 37 years of service as a school teacher.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, David Brewer, of Newark Valley; and her children, Susan Macke of Cupertino, CA and Stephen (Karen) Brewer of St. Peters, MO. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kristin and Michela Macke and Alex Brewer.

In keeping with Betty's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Those wishing to remember Betty are kindly asked to consider the Tappan Spaulding Memorial Library, P.O.
