Beverly J. Eaton

May 31, 1927 — April 9, 2021

Beverly J. Eaton, 93, of the Town of Smithville, NY, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Tippecanoe, IN, on May 31, 1927, Bev was the daughter of the late Earl and Clara Goodrich Parker.  A devoted Christian, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus and made many mission trips, but was most proud of her missionary work to the Campache, Mexico Orphanage.  She was also a member of the Historical Society of Smithville Flats and a member of the Triangle Quilting Club.  She served on the election board and as an inspector for the Chenango County Republican Party.

She is survived by her 15 children, Jean Conley of Cazenovia, Kenneth (Betty) Eaton of Owego, Robert (Nancy) Eaton of Willet, Charles Eaton of Iowa, Gary (Marilyn) Eaton of Charlotte, NC, Mary Lou (Tom) Neubauer of Whitney Point, Ruth Eaton of Homer, David (Linda) Eaton of Whitney Point, James (Karen) Eaton of Cincinnatus, Dennis (Elizabeth) Eaton of Cincinnatus, Debra Eaton of Willet, Edwin (Lori) Eaton of Willet, William (Patricia) Eaton of Cincinnatus, Julie Hatfield of Greene, and Jacquelyn (Stanley) Sherwood of Panama; and a daughter-in-law, Janice Eaton of Cortland.  She also leaves behind 29 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arby I. Eaton, Sr., in 1982; a son, Arby I. Eaton, Jr. in 1990; a granddaughter, Maxine Eaton in 1976, and her brother, Richard N. Parker.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  NY State Covid-19 guidelines will be followed.  Masks must be worn and social distancing will be in place.  Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Donald Workman, Larry King, and Stanley Sherwood officiating.  Burial will be in Willet Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bev may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus for the Campache Mexico Orphanage, P.O. Box 220, Cincinnatus, NY 13040 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33-39 Court Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
