January 13, 1936 — December 9, 2020

Beverly S. Peak, 84, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2020, at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY.

Bev was born in Norwich, NY on January 13, 1936.  She was the daughter of the late Harold and Winifred Thornton Anderson.  Beverly attended Norwich schools. She married her lifelong love, Lyle L. Peak, on June 28, 1952.  They were married for 62 years.  Together they raised their three daughters.  Beverly was a seamstress.  She worked for many years at Crescent Corset in Cincinnatus and ended her career at Vesta in McGraw.  After retirement she volunteered for many years at Cortland-Chenango Rural Services in Cincinnatus.  Beverly was first and foremost a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She devoted herself to the care of her family.  Her home was always filled with love and laughter.  She loved music.  She supported Lyle all of the many years that he played in country bands.  Saturday nights were her time to dance to Lyle’s music at the Solon Sportsman Club.  She had a beautiful voice and often sang with the band.

She is survived by her children, Sherry (David) Knickerbocker of Taylor, LuAnn (Neil) Glassford of Willet, and Teresa (Corky) Carr of Cincinnatus.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kiplind L. Angle of Whitney Point, Kristopher William (Kate) Angle of Cortland, Kyle Brandon Angle of Sherburne, Kodie Lee Angle of Taylor, Rebecca (Shawn Rowe) Knickerbocker of South Otselic, Tracie (Del) McKee of Greene, Cory (Cristal Dudek) Glassford of Willet, Amy (Kevin) Guernsey of North Pitcher, and Natasha (Luke) Burhans of Sempronius; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Cheryl (Ron) Johnson of North Norwich, brothers, Roger (Diane) Anderson of Wolcott, Randy (Karen) Anderson of Weaubleau, Missouri; and sisters-in-law, Catherine Svenson of Oxford and Jeanette Anderson of German.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lyle Peak, on August 6, 2014, and siblings Carl Svenson, Jr., Robert Anderson and Matilda Reynolds.

Mom – your (our) story is not finished. There are new chapters to be completed, for love transcends all time.  We will carry on along the path you began for us and look forward to that day of glorious reunion.  Your family loves you forever and always!

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.  Expressions of sympathy may be directed to New Ministries OLPH, 2708 Lower Cincinnatus Road, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
