Camilla S. Loomis, 86, of Union Valley Road, DeRuyter, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 24, 2009, while surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Loomis was born in Union Valley on July 3, 1922, a daughter of the late Harold DeRoss and Julia Bell Cass Smith. A lifelong resident of the area, she was employed at the First National Bank of Cincinnatus during the 1940's and 1950's, and then later at the Crescent Corsett Company and was more recently an Avon Representative. She attended the Pitcher Federated Church. She was a member of the Ladies Aide Society of Union Valley and also a member of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Home Demonstration Program.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Paul Loomis of Union Valley; and her daughters, Sharon (Michael) Pryor of Union Valley and Deborah (Bruce) Marcham of McGraw. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Scott (Valerie) Yeaw, Michael (Tracey Dutton) Pryor, Cheryl (Michael) Phippen, David (Jessica) Yeaw, Candi (Terry) Bordell, Zebulon (Kim Earley) Davis, and Zenta (Donald) Smith; her great-grandchildren, Mary, Kayla, Sean, Joan, Calista, Cameron, McKena, and Sophie; and a great-great-grandson, Zachery; a brother, Ronald (Sherry) Smith of Cincinnatus; a sister-in-law, Laura Smith, of Cortland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Smith.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with Jeanne Angell officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery at a later date. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Loomis may be directed to the Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders Association, Inc. (ADRDA), 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
