Carol C. Rabenstein

March 13, 1945 — May 26, 2016

The train delivered a beautiful soul to heaven on May 26, 2016, when Carol Rabenstein, 71, passed away.

She was born in Cortland, NY, on March 13, 1945 to Ray and Marie (Terrel) Caldwell and grew up on the family farm in Richford, NY.  She is survived by Robert Rabenstein, her husband of 51 years and her son, Kevin, both of Berkshire, as well as her grandson, Jason, of Groton.  She also leaves behind her sister, Barbara Lidestri and her nieces Kim (Joseph) Rigoli, and Brenda (Peter) Perfetti, brother-in-law Charles (Doris) Rabenstein, sisters-in-law Dorla Marsh and Lois Stafford, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Carol enjoyed helping her husband on their farm and singing in the choir of the Richford Congregational Church, of which she was a member.  She also belonged to the Rebekahs in Richford for many years and helped people whenever she could.  Carol loved the cows and other animals on the farm, hearing the train, and most of all, her family, including her “second family” at Riverview.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. Donations in Carol’s memory may be directed to the Richford Congregational Church, Richford, NY 13835. The family would like to thank the staff of the Riverview Manor Health Care Center for their many years of loving care they gave to Carol.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY.
