Charles "Bucky" H. Bishop

Charles H. “Bucky” Bishop, 69, of North Pitcher, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, while surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Oxford, NY, on August 23, 1950, Bucky was the son of the late Earl and Genevieve Stone Bishop.  He was a proud member of Union Local 1249 in East Syracuse.  Bucky was very meticulous and could work all day and still appear spotless.  He took great pride in keeping his lawn manicured and his home, garage and John Deere always looking flawless.

Bucky was married to the former Linda Williams for 50 years, until her death on September 24, 2018.

Bucky is survived by his children, Tina (David) Cruikshank of N. Pitcher and Charles “B.J.” (Kellie) Bishop, Jr. of S. Otselic; grandchildren, Charles (Abby) Bishop, III of S. Otselic and Cole William Cruikshank of N. Pitcher; and great-granddaughter, Blake Linae Bishop.  He also leaves behind his siblings, Linda (David) Miller of Pitcher, Loren (Janiece) Bishop of Pitcher, Dawn (Armand) LaVigne of S. Otselic, Laurie Church of Munnsville, Denise Allen of S. Otselic, Marcia Monro of Fayetteville, NC, and Richard (Loree) Bishop of Homer; many in-laws, nieces and nephews; and good friend of many years, David Whaley.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Cindy Staley and Sandy Rogers.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Sunday, September 29, 2019, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY.

Interment of Bucky and Linda will be in North Pitcher Cemetery on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at noon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bucky’s memory may be directed to the South Otselic Fire Department, P.O. Box 41, South Otselic, NY 13155, or Crouse Community Center, 101 South Street, Morrisville, NY 13408.
