Charles E. Fausnaugh

October 25, 1925 — December 11, 2019

Charles E. Fausnaugh, 94, of Pitcher, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the Cortland Regional Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Cortland, NY, while surrounded by his family.

Born in McDonough, NY, Charlie was the son of the late Lawrence and Inez Gilland Fausnaugh.  He was a member of the Pitcher Federated Church and had more recently attended the South Otselic United Methodist Church.  Charlie had proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a longtime member of the Knickerbocker American Legion Post #596.  Prior to his retirement, he had worked at the Raymond Corporation and Brockway Trucks.  He had also been employed by Econolite Vault Company and drove delivery truck for a local auto supply company.  Charlie had served as a trustee and past president of the Pitcher Cemetery Association for many years.

He is survived by  his daughters, Linda Craft of Camden, SC, Sheryl (Kalvin) Small of Bean Station, TN, and Nancy (Raymond) Parker of Cortland.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, James Craft, Jennifer (Bill) Hayes, Jeff Craft, Deanna (John) Pace, Dale Small, Edward (Bri) Parker, and Erin Parker; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Elija Craft, Adrianna Pace, Zachary and Bradlee Small, and Penelope Parker; a great-great-grandson, Harrison Craft; a sister, Erla Breitenbach of TX; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Irene Fausnaugh, on June 10, 1999, brothers, Royal and David Fausnaugh; and a sister, Eldora Bergstrom.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will be in Pitcher Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Charlie may be directed to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
