Charles P. Rink, Sr., 79, of Willet, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY, after becoming ill at home.
Born in Endicott, NY, on February 27, 1937, Chuck was the son of the late Vern Rink and Agatha David Horrocks. A 1954 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957 and was a member of the Knickerbocker American Legion Post #596, Cincinnatus. He retired from the Cincinnatus Central School in 1999 after several years of service and prior to that had retired from Grumman Boats after 33 years of service. Chuck loved spending time outdoors and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Satterlee Rink; and his children, Charles P. Rink, Jr. of Little Rock, AR, Russell (Kris) Rink of Grant, MI, Roberta (Brent Rosiek) Rink of Rochester, Linda (Doug) Laudig of German, Barbara (Charles) Winters of Willet, and Lawrence (Nancy) Rink of Cazenovia; and a daugther-in-law, Cathy Rink, of Willet. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Amanda Cortright, April Rink, Vern Rink, Brandy Laudig Howard, Jonathon Laudig, Devon Rink, Dylan Winters, Shane Winters, Lydia Rosiek, and Mason Rosiek; and his great-grandchildren, Tanner, Hailee, and Morgan Cortright, and Maxwell and Duncan Howard; siblings, Rosemary Cox, Kenneth Horrocks, Gerald Horrocks, Harold Horrocks, and Robert Rink; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Ronald Rink on March 11, 2015; and siblings, Richard Rink, Wes Horrocks, James Horrocks, and Bernard David.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Willet Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Chuck may be directed to the Willet Fire Department, c/o Margaret Yarnes, P.O.
