Charles Rutan, Jr.

Charles Arthur Rutan, Jr. went to be with his loving Savior on May 5, 2021 at the age of 94. He was born on August 4, 1926, to Charles Rutan, Sr. and Elizabeth Wilson Rutan.  He married Mary Louise Brown in 1948 and they enjoyed a 67-year marriage before she predeceased him in 2015.  He was a 1946 graduate of McGraw High School and was a member of the McGrawville Baptist Church.  Charlie and Mary ran the family farm and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved watching his grandchildren’s activities and also enjoyed family gatherings. He is survived by his son, John, and a daughter, Nancy Hornung.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kyle (Heather) Rutan, Jenette (Hansel Urena) Rutan, Scott Hornung, and Rob (Allie) Hornung and great-grandchildren, Brycen Rutan and Madison Hornung.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Arthur Rutan, Mildred Schellinger, Levi Rutan, Ronald Rutan, Donald Rutan, and Medora Bement. There will be no calling hours.  Services will be held at a later date.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Charlie may be directed to the McGrawville Baptist Church, 16 E.
