Charles A. Strough

Charles A. Strough, 75, of Willet, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.

Charles was born in Cortland, NY, on December 11, 1946, the son of the late Roland and Catherine Strough. A lifelong resident of the area, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Vector Construction after several years. He had also worked at Grumman Boat, Marathon, the blueberry farm in Marathon, and the bat factory in Homer. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and visiting with his many friends at the Willet/Cincinnatus Sr. Center.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Eleanor Greene Strough; and his children, Angela (Christopher) White of Brookfield and Michelle (Russ) Hearton of Fulton. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Timothy (Robin) Roy of Marathon, April (Rick Oliver) Roy of Greene, Kelly (Sonila) Greene of Liverpool, Hason (Halim) Greene of NYC, and Christopher (Katelyn) Greene of NC; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Strough; a stepson, Jamie Roy; and siblings, Carlton Strough, Robert Strough, Irma Strough, and Joyce Strough.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
