Craig A. Cihocki

Craig A. Cihocki, 55, of Willet, NY, passed away  unexpectedly on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.

Born in Rome, NY, on March 9, 1965, Craig was the son of Francis and Josephine Laskowski Cihocki, Jr.  A resident of this area for the past 20 years, he retired from the NYS Office of Inspector General where he had worked as a Sr. Fraud Investigator.  After his retirement, he worked as a private consultant.  Craig was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  A loving husband and father, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, Josephine Cihocki of Rome, he is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kathleen Costello Cihocki; and his children, Andrew and Katie Cihocki, both at home.  He also leaves behind his sisters, Cathleen (James) Reilly of Ava, Cynthia (David) Paine of Ava, and Caren (Giovanni) Libertella of Rome; a brother, Curt (Jennifer) Cihocki of Port Leyden; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his father, Francis Cihocki, Jr., he was predeceased by a sister, Christine Cihocki, in 2019.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Face masks will be required, as well as social distancing protocol.  A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Douglas Cunningham officiating.  Burial will be in Willet Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Craig may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
