Darrell W. Church

Darrell W. Church, 58, of South Otselic, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cortland, NY, on May 18, 1967, , Darrell was the son of William and Judy Stafford Church. A longtime resident of the area, he was a proud graduate of the South Otselic Central School Class of 1985.

Darrell was a talented self-employed electrician, showcasing his skills and dedication to his craft. Prior to this career, he had also worked as a self-employed truck driver, embodying the spirit of a jack of all trades. He approached all aspects of life with a passion and dedication, earning respect from all who knew him.

An enthusiastic fan of the Grateful Dead, Darrell found joy in music that resonated deeply with him. He enjoyed playing one of his many guitars and loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which brought him great pleasure and freedom on the open road.

Darrell is survived by his mother, Judy Church Lidell, of Truxton; his companion, Marcia Coye, of South Otselic; his sisters, Debra Green of Truxton and Denise Church of McDonough; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special nephew, Kyle (Tina) Green of Cortland. He also leaves behind his beloved canine companion, Gunner.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Duane Church, and his grandparents, Richard and Frieda Stafford and William and Gloria Church.

Darrell's family would like to invite all who knew him to celebrate his life and legacy. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Jeanne Angell officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, South Otselic, in the spring of the year. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Darrell may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.

Darrell will be deeply missed, but his spirit and warmth will continue to live on in the memories of those who loved him.
