David M. Greene, Sr.

David M. Greene, Sr., 62, of Afton, NY, and formerly of Cuyler, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.

David was born in Cuyler, NY, on April 28, 1955, the son of the late Winfield and Thelma Slack Greene.  He had worked on several local farms in the Cortland County area for many years.  David enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed taking his boys for a walk.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Florence Chambers Greene; and children, Becky Jo (Herbert) Jacobus of Sayre, PA, David M. (Trish) Greene, Sr. of Oswego, Robert Greene of Afton, Jonathon Greene of Afton, and Roger (Shannon Hogan) Greene of McGraw.  He also leaves behind his sisters, Dorothy Leeson of Palmyra, Betty VanDee of Cuyler, and Esther MacLaury of South Otselic; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Carl Greene; and sisters, Helen Chambers and Patricia Stanton.

A ham dinner and gathering of friends in honor of David will be held at the Taylor Wesleyan Church on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
