Dean A. Delavan, 85, of Cincinnatus, NY, went to his heavenly home at 2:00 p.m. on April 17, 2021.
Born on February 29, 1936 in the same house his father was born; Dean continued the dairy and maple heritage of his parents. Dean was involved in dozens of organizations, including the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus, state and local Farm Bureau and maple, Rural Mail Carriers, and the local historical societies.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Esther; his children, Sarah (Brad) Calhoun, Dale Delavan, Dan (Betsy) Delavan, Jonathan (Jessie) Delavan, and Sharon (John) Stanton; a dozen grandchildren; and ten plus great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. with his son, Pastor Dan Delavan, and Pastor Larry King officiating. A private family burial will take place at the Marathon Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 12:00 p.m. NY State Covid-19 guidelines will be followed. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be in place. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dean may be directed to CAR World Relief, c/o Baptist Mid-Missions, P.O.
