Donald Lacey

Donald R. Lacey, 92, of Brooktondale, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Cayuga Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ithaca, NY.

Don was born in Richford, NY, on April 18, 1931, the son of the late James and Bessie Barnes Lacey.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1960.  Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a tinner for Cornell University.

He is survived by his son, Ronald (Marie) Lacey of Ithaca; a granddaughter, Heather Benedict of Trumansburg; and great-grandchildren, Bryce, Jake and Ellie Benedict.  He also leaves behind a brother, Lawrence Lacey of Idaho.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Scalia Lacey, on September 18, 2013; and his siblings, Clarence Lacey, June Conway, Wilbur Lacey, Gerald Lacey, Ann Barden, Norma Grimes, and Dorla Zeh.
