Donna A. Treacy

Donna A. (Donofrio) Treacy, 71, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Groton Community Health Care Center, Groton, NY.

Born in Ansonia, CT, Donna was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Gabianelli Donofrio.  She retired from Cortland County Department of Social Services in 2014 after several years of service.  She had also worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block for 45 plus years.  A loving mother and grandmother, she loved baking and cooking , going on wine tours, and most importantly, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Melissa Contento of Cortland, Clyde Treacy, Jr. of Cincinnatus, Joy Treacy of Homer, Kevin Treacy of Cortland, and Todd (Danielle) Treacy of Homer.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kaylean Contento, Robert Contento II, Savanna Contento, Damian Brown, Donavin Brown, Callen Treacy, Brayden Treacy, and Kinsley Treacy; a great-grandson, Jaxson Contento; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Clyde Treacy, Sr., on December 26, 2018; brothers, Philip and Nicholas Donofrio; and sisters, Marie Megenis and Ann Hemenway.

Memorial services for Donna will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on March 4, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Donna may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
