Doris Celia (Kenyon) Seames, age 94, went to be with her savior on September 5th, 2026. Doris was born on February 27, 1932, in Pitcher, NY. She was the only child of Ray D. and Agnes H. Kenyon. Doris graduated from the Cincinnatus Centralized School in upstate NY in 1949. She married Gordon L. Preston in 1950 and together they had three children and were married for 25 years.

Doris worked for the U.S. Post Office for 15 years, as Clerk in South Otselic and Postmaster in Preble N.Y. Beginning in 1980, she attended Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY, studying music. She graduated as class Salutatorian in 1982. Upon graduation, she moved to Tucson, AZ. to support her parents and pursue a second career in music.

In Tucson, Doris met and married Albert E. Seames. They spent 29 happy years together and enjoyed many extensive road trips across the country, spending time with family and friends at home and afar. They enjoyed church activities, theatre performances, visiting museums, and playing card games wherever they were.

Doris was an accomplished musician and pianist. She taught private piano lessons throughout her life, entertained at several of Tucson’s finest restaurants, and was the organist and pianist at several churches. She delighted in sharing her musical gift with others. While living at the Fellowship Square retirement community in Tucson, she enjoyed entertaining the residents on her grand piano in the dining hall. Doris had a strong Christian faith, was very active with church activities, and enjoyed studying the Bible.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Seames; son, Raymond L. Preston of South Otselic, NY; and daughter, Janice P. Haines of Aurora, CO. She is survived by her son, Robert G. Preston (Lorrie) of Mechanicsburg, PA; four stepchildren, Warren Seames (Dolores) of Tucson, Leslie Chalmers (John) of Tucson, Wayne (Janet) of Grand Forks, ND, Ed Seames (Vickie) of Texarkana, TX; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, in the Fellowship Square Great Room, 8111 E. Broadway Blvd. Tucson, AZ.
