Dorothy M. Blanchard

Dorothy M. (Masin) Blanchard, 87, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away at her home on Saturday, January 25, 2020, with her family by her side.

Born in Alpine, NY, Mrs. Blanchard was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Chrisman Masin.  She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Baldwinsville, where she was a member of the choir.  Prior to her retirement, she was a nurse at Pediatric Surgery Associates in Syracuse.  Several years ago, she served as a volunteer for the Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps and the American Red Cross.  Mrs. Blanchard cherished her family and will be dearly missed by friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Tammy (John) Terpening of Sarasota, FL, Jeanne (David) Bryant of Jordan, Dorena (Steve) Clifton, Rodger “Taur” (Tina) Blanchard, Jr., Tina (John) Harkins, and Bugsy (Dava) Blanchard, all of Baldwinsville.  She also leaves behind her sisters, Frances Chapman of Odessa and Clara “Beak” (Tommy) Scott of Lynchburg, VA; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Masin of Breesport; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Rodger Blanchard, Sr., on August 4, 2019; brothers, John Masin and Mike Masin; and a sister, Linda Williammee.

A celebration of her life will be held at the American Legion, 8529 Smokey Hollow Road, Baldwinsville, NY, on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Graveside services for her and her husband, Rodger, will be held at Taylor Rural Cemetery in the spring of the year.  Those wishing to remember Mrs. Blanchard are asked to kindly spend time with family and those you love.
