Duana M. McCarthy

Duana M. (Cornelius) McCarthy, 55, of Marathon, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at the Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY.

Duana was born in Cortland, NY, on January 29, 1966, the daughter of the late Robert and Verlyn Shufelt Cornelius. She was a 1984 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School.

She is survived by her daughters, Paige Kinner of Homer and Bailey McCarthy of Marathon. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brayden and Graysen Holcomb of Marathon; sisters, Pat Pittsley of Cincinnatus and RaeAnn Cornelius of South Carolina; a brother, Jeff Cornelius of Cortland; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Timothy McCarthy, in 2014.

A Celebration of Duana’s Life will be held at a later date and time to be determined. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Duana may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
