Earle E. O'Dell

Earle E. O'Dell, 71, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

Born in Willet, NY on January 8, 1940, Earle was a son of the late Lawrence and Alta Morgan O'Dell. A lifelong resident of the area, he worked at several places, including Homer Laundry and the J.M. Murray Center.

He is survived by his daughters, Marie O'Dell and Susan (Michael) Thornton of Solon; granddaughters, Sasha Thornton of Cortland and Amanda Thornton of Solon; brothers, Richard O'Dell of Cortland and Elwin O'Dell of McGraw; and sisters, Harriet (Ron) Bottereauga of Michigan and Kim Anderson of Florida.

He was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Friday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no funeral service. Burial will be in Willet Cemetery at a later date.
