Edward E. Cruikshank, Sr.

Edward E. Cruikshank, Sr., 72, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012, at the Crown Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, Cortland, NY.

Born in Brookfield, NY on April 19, 1939, Ed was a son of the late Charles and Margaret Hallock Cruikshank. He drove an 18-wheel truck for most of his life, most recently for McCormick Trucking, Cazenovia. On September 13, 1959, he married Sandra Morse in Lower Cincinnatus and together they raised six children. Ed enjoyed many past times, including playing cards with his friends at Turning Water, fishing, hunting and camping, but the greatest joy of his life was traveling with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Morse Cruikshank, and their children, Lucy Livermore of Concord, CA, Carole (Gary) Preston of McGraw, Edward Cruikshank, Jr. and Harry Cruikshank, both of Salt Lake City, UT, Judy McMullen of Port Crane, and William (Brooke) Cruikshank of Salt Lake City, UT. He also leaves behind a sister, Sybil Harris of E. Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Milt Cruikshank, Margaret Baker, Arlene Rogala, Larry Cruikshank, Delores Predmore, Art Cruikshank, and Charles Cruikshank, Jr.; and a grandson, Nicholas Livermore.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside ceremony will be held at the North Pitcher Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
