Edward Howard Scoville, Jr., also affectionately known as Howie, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Crown Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cortland, NY, at the age of 64.

Howie was the beloved son of Sandra Vosburg and stepson of Butch Vosburg. He is survived by his sisters, Michelle Jorgenson of Oxford and Melinda Rigo of Apalachin, as well several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was previously employed at the J.M. Murray Center in Cortland, NY, where he formed lasting relationships and made an impact through his hard work and generosity. Howie proudly served in the U.S. Army.

He was predeceased by his father, Edward Scoville, his wife, Debbie Phelps Scoville, and his brother, Craig Scoville.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Palmer Neumeister officiating. Burial at Taylor Rural Cemetery will follow. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Howie may be made to ARC of Cortland and Madison Counties, 701 Lenox Avenue, Oneida, NY 13421.
