Frederick D. Briggs

Frederick David  Briggs, 78, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY.

Fred was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on February 11, 1945, the son of the late Frederick H. and Winifred DeCastro Briggs of Portsmouth, RI.  He previously owned and operated Fairholm Dairy in Portsmouth, RI and also trucked across the country as a truck driver for many years.  He also owned and operated Fairholm Farms in Cincinnatus, NY.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Robinson Briggs; and his stepchildren, Lisa (John) Souza of Portsmouth, RI; Brent Kimball of Tully, NY and Robin Kimball of Portsmouth, RI.  He also leaves behind a sister, Janet Ball of Richmond, VA; 3 grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan Souza, Caleb Kimball, 5 Great-Grandchildren, Parker, Jaxson, Paislee Souza, Kado, Levi Kimball; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Briggs, a sister, Rebecca Bowden and a grandson Brent Kimball, Jr.
