Gerald Eccleston

Gerald F. Eccleston, 63, of Cincinnatus, NY, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at his home, with his life partner Joan Coombs at his side.

Jerry was born in Cortland, NY, on June 7, 1955, the son of L. Dewey and Phyllis Potter Eccleston.  Jerry graduated from Cincinnatus High School and was a lifelong resident of the area.  Jerry’s passion was for farming even after he retired in 2018.  He loved to help area farmers, tinker with tractors, go on tractor and snowmobile rides with friends, but most of all loved spending time with his family.  He also loved to hunt with his brothers and nephews.

Jerry leaves behind his partner of over 22 years, his mother, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father in 2013, a brother in 2006, and a sister in 1963.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no immediate funeral services.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date and time.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jerry may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,  P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
