His professional life was defined by nearly four decades of service at Suit-Kote, where his dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on both colleagues and the company alike. His career was a testament to his dependable nature and strong character.
Beyond his work, Gerald was known for his spirited involvement with the 7-Valley Street Rod Club, reflecting his passion for classic cars and motorsports. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, often cheering on his favorite driver, Kyle Busch, and showed a particular enthusiasm for dirt track racing. He had previously served as a volunteer fireman for the Homer Fire Department. Additionally, Gerald took great pleasure in working on his Chevy truck, a hobby that brought him joy and satisfaction.
Gerald's family was the heart of his life. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Margo (Mark) Holley of Cortland, Samantha Tracy of Cortland, and Shannon Tracy of Rochester, along with his son, Zach Tracy of Cortland. His love extended to the next generation, including his cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Upson, Jordan Upson and Teagan Tracy. Gerald was also deeply bonded with his fiancé (to whom he referred to as his baby girl), Chris Butler. The family home was completed with the loving presence of Jeb, their French Bulldog.
