James "Jimmy" C. Stith

James "Jimmy" C. Stith, 55, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 28, 2015, at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY.

Born in Cincinnatus, NY on November 8, 1959, Jimmy was the son of the late Theodore Stith, Sr. and Lois Peak Stith.  A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1978 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School.  He worked as an auctioneer, most recently for Gene Wood Auction Service, and also as a farmer on several local farms.  In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with his many friends at numerous locations, including Turning Water in Cincinnatus.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Guyette Stith, of Cincinnatus; stepsons, Joshua (Debbie Maricle) Lites of Cincinnatus and Paul (Felicia) Downing of Virginia Beach, VA; a stepdaughter, Lisa Downing of Cortland; and several stepgrandchildren.  He also leaves behind his sisters, Patricia (Steve) Phelps of Truxton and Darlene (Brian) Rose of Cincinnatus; one uncle; four aunts; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his first wife, Barbara, in 2014, and a brother, Theodore Stith, Jr. in 2008.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James Hundley officiating.  Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
