James R. Parker, Jr.

James “Grampy” R. Parker, Jr., 58, of Union Valley, NY, passed away suddenly, at his home, on Friday, July 23, 2021.

Born in Cortland, NY, on October 15, 1962, Jim was the son of the late James Parker, Sr. and Irene Moran Parker. A lifelong resident of this area, he had been employed as a service technician for IMRS, Chambersburg, PA. He was a life member and past assistant chief of the Cincinnatus Fire Department and served as an EMT for the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad.

He is survived by the love of his life, Tamatha “Tami” Wood Parker; his children, Derek Ponton of Marathon, Sara Neer of Catskills, Rachel Parker of Homer, and James Parker III of Union Valley. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Scott Smith of Cortland, Stephanie Stanton and Lacey Brundenge, both of Windsor; brothers, Ray Parker and John Parker, both of Cortland; a sister, Marie Reisman of Spencerport; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be no formal funeral services. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jim may be directed to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Elaine Oros, 5771 McFarlane Road, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.

After attending the visitation for Jim, friends are invited to the Cincinnatus Fire Station to share in fellowship until the family can join you at the conclusion of the visitation.
