Jeremiah Paul Tuning, 55, of Stafford Road, Cincinnatus, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 2, 2008.
Born on July 14, 1953, Jerry was a son of the late William Robert and Mary Rockwell Tuning. A longtime resident of the area, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus. He was employed as a teacher at George, Jr. in Freeville where he touched the lives of many of his students.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Martha Tuning; and his sons, Jason (June) Tuning, Brian (Holly Burtchell) Tuning, and Matthew Tuning, all of Cincinnatus. He also leaves behind a brother, Pete Tuning of FL; and sisters, Nina Campbell of Avon, Shirley Gibbs of CA, and Martha (Dale) Kress of Fassett, PA.
He was preceded in death by his infant twin grandsons, Caleb and Connor Tuning in 2004.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus with his pastor, Rev. David Perrott, officiating on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. As it was always Jerry's wish, burial will follow on his family property. The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry's memory may be made to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Elaine Oros, 5771 McFarlane Rd., Cincinnatus, NY 13040, the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus, Baptist Ave., Cincinnatus, NY 13040, or to a charity of one's choice.
