John E. Doughty, Sr.

John E. Doughty, Sr., 72, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, Cortland, NY.

John was born in Syracuse, NY, on August 1, 1946, the son of the late Ronald and Mary Wilkinson Doughty.  He retired from Pall Trinity in 2014 after 29  years of service.  He loved spending time hiking outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He enjoyed watching football but most importantly, loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Judy Hemingway Doughty; and his children, Deb (Bill) Davis of Solon, John (Bonnie) Doughty of McGraw, Michael (Kari) Doughty of Liverpool, Jim (Kim) Doughty of Willet, Joshua (Christina) Doughty of South Otselic, and Michelle (Gordon) Marshall of South Otselic.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Gordon IV, Lea, Blake, Nazarah, Jimmy, Joshua, Jr., Caden, Isabella, and Nathan; his brothers, Ron Doughty of Bridgeport and Joe (Linda) Doughty of LaFayette; a sister, Sherry (Ron) Graves of Syracuse; a brother-in-law, Gene; sisters-in-law, Terry, Candy, and Kathy; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, four brothers and two sisters.

Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church of South Otselic on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Moore officiating.  There will be no prior calling hours.
