Lawrence D. Rotunda

Lawrence D. Rotunda, 74, of Owego, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 26, 2011, at his home.

Born in Richford, NY, on July 15, 1937, Larry was a son of Samuel and Elsie Royce Rotunda. A lifelong resident of this area, he was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church. For several years he was employed by Alekna Construction in Union Center. Larry was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the outdoors and fishing in his pond. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, his grandchildren were the lights of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Rotunda; and his children, Anna (Robert) Veruto of Endicott and Mike (Stephanie) Rotunda of Brooksville, FL. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Austin Veruto and his girlfriend, Erin Thomas and her daughter, Bella DeWolf, Windham Rotunda and his fiance Samantha Krieger, Taylor Rotunda, Jared Veruto, and Mika Rotunda; a great-granddaughter, Cayden Rotunda; his mother, Elsie DeCamp of Groton; a brother, Sam (Diane) Rotunda of Cortland; a sister-in-law, Nancy Rotunda of Groton; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his many life-long friends, too numerous to mention.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sisters Betty Rotunda and Judy Darling; and a brother, Gerry Rotunda.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY. There will be no prior calling hours.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Kyle Sharp and family for their care and assistance during Larry's passing. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered.
