Linda K. Beckwith

Linda K. (Warner) Beckwith, 73, of Willet, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY.

 

Linda was born in Smithville, NY, on February 8, 1949, the daughter of the late Clead and Neva Barnes Warner.  A longtime resident of the area, she was a member of the Willet United Methodist Church, until its closing.  She retired from Whitney Point Central School where she had worked as the cafeteria manager for many years.  Prior to that, she had worked at Buckbee Mears for 30 years.  She had also previously owned and operated the Country Cone Ice Cream store in Willet for many years.  She was a member of the Willet Fire Department Auxiliary and  Willet Rescue, the Town of Willet Zoning Board, and served as a trustee for the Willet Burial Association.  A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed.

 

She is survived by her children, Dana (Charles) Holley of Seminole, OK, Raymond (Tracy) Smith of Willet, and Lindsey (Tim) Law of McGraw.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Arielle, Brittany, Cody, Tyler, Lauren, Chelsea, Allison, Jacob, Joshua, Charley, and Kensley; her brothers, Donald (Carol) Warner and Larry (Barb) Warner, all of Willet; a sister, Sandra (Jay Faulkner) Billings of Triangle; a close friend, Margaret Yarnes of Willet; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alan Beckwith, in 2019; a son, Corey Beckwith in 2007; and a brother, Robert Warner.

 

A memorial service will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Will Gallerani officiating.  Burial in Willet Cemetery will be at a later date.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.  Friends are also invited to join the family at the Willet Fire Department at the conclusion of the memorial service.  The donation of food is being organized by Pam Powell.  Anyone interested in donating may contact Pam at 607-759-5567 or 607-875-4082.  Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Willet Fire Department, c/o Margaret Yarnes, P.O.
