Linda E. Leonard

Linda E. (Morris) Leonard, 70, of Cortland, NY, and formerly of McGraw, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, while surrounded by her family.

Linda was born in Cortland, NY, on July 10, 1947, the daughter of the late Lester and Charlotte Sherman Morris.  She made her home on Potter Road in McGraw for thirty years before moving to Cortland.  She was a member of the McGrawville Baptist Church since 1995, where she served as a deacon and steward.  Linda retired from Wilcox Tire, Cortland, after thirty years of dedicated service.  After working at Wilcox's, Linda often took care of babies in her home.  She got great joy from nurturing little ones and watching them grow.  Linda was a caring selfless woman whose family meant everything to her.  She was dedicated to her church and had a strong faith.  Everyone who knew Linda speaks of her as the sweetest woman who put everyone else above herself.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harold Leonard; and children, Laurie (Mark Cloutier) Gosse of Homer and Loren (Kelly) Leonard of Cortland.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob Gosse and Genevieve Leonard; and a sister, Patricia Brigiotta of Binghamton.

A memorial service will be held at the McGrawville Baptist Church on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. with her pastor, Reverend Fran Cochran, officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in E. Homer Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the service at 12:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Linda may be directed to the McGrawville Baptist Church, P.O.
