Lorena M. Tracy

Lorena M. (Marks) Tracy, 79, of McGraw, NY, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Crown Center for Nursing, Cortland, NY.

Born in Cortland, NY on May 7, 1935, Lorena was the daughter of the late Carl and Beulah Youngs Marks.  A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1953 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and worked as a short order cook at several local restaurants in the Cortland and McGraw area.  A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Gerald (Sheila Peak) Tracy of Blodgett Mills; a stepdaughter, Linda Briceland of KY; and a brother, Douglas Marks of Fort Wayne, IN.  She also leaves behind eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Debbie Holtmart, of Cincinnatus.

She was predeceased by her husband, Quentin Durward Tracy, in 1999; and sisters, Jean Marks and Marge Button.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating.  Burial will follow in Taylor Rural Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Lorena may be directed to the McGraw Rescue, 7 W. Center St., McGraw, NY 13101.
