Margaret M. Springer

Margaret M. Springer, 84, of Lincklaen, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.

A longtime resident of the Lincklaen/DeRuyter area, Mrs. Springer was born in Bernhard's Bay, NY on October 10, 1925, a daughter of the late Orrie and Sarah Kissner Woolridge. She was a member of the DeRuyter United Church and a member of the DeRuyter Chapter #416 O.E.S. She retired from the Key Bank, DeRuyter, was a member of the DeRuyter Historical Society and also worked on the Town of Lincklaen Election Board. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Nancy McMaster of DeRuyter, Michael (Kathy) Springer of Covington, LA, Robert (Linda) Springer of McGraw, Terry Springer of Boynton Beach, FL, Richard (Lisa) Springer of Folsom, LA, Thomas (Linda) Springer of DeRuyter, and Kevin (Pam) Springer of S. Otselic; her daughters-in-law, Linda Springer and Dorothy Manwarren, both of Norwich. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1980; two sons, Ronald in 2005 and Larry in 1969; a granddaughter, Jessica Springer; a brother, Orlando Wooldridge; and two sisters, Emma Stone and Louise Stratton.

Funeral services will be held at the DeRuyter United Church on Friday, February 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with her pastor, Reverend Vern Groves and Jeanne Angell officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, DeRuyter, at a later date. The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Those wishing to remember Mrs. Springer with a donation are kindly asked to consider the DeRuyter United Church, 1670 Cortland St., DeRuyter, NY 13052 or the American Cancer Society - CNY Region, 6725 Lyons St., P.O. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I didn't know Marge had been ill. She was truly a lovely lady and will be missed. She so proud of her family. The last time I saw her, she was going to yet another wedding for one of her greandchildren and so happy and excited. My deepest sympathies.
