Mary T. Gasiorowski

Mary T. Gasiorowski, 87, of Kirkwood (Binghamton), NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY.

Mrs. Gasiorowski was born in Binghamton, NY on May 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine Wnek Dec.  A lifelong resident of the area, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kirkwood.  She was a 1950 graduate of nursing school and retired from the Binghamton Psychiatric Center in 1983 after 30 years of dedicated service.

She is survived by her children, Martin James (Tammy) Gasiorowski of Phoenix, AZ and Valerie (Scott) Yeaw of Cincinnatus.  She also leaves behind a sister, Anna (Ted) Pliszka of Binghamton; her grandchildren, Martin James Gasiorowski, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Mary Vay Slavick of Brewerton, Sean Slavick of Binghamton, and Joan Slavick of Cincinnatus; and her great-grandchildren, Zachary Lindow, Logan Lindow, and Aria Sanders.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albin Gasiorowski, in 2000; a son, Joseph Gasiorowski; three sisters; and two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kirkwood, on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 12:00 noon with Reverend Thomas Hobbes as celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in the Town of Maine.  The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the Mass.  The family has requested that those who wish to order flowers may call Peri’s Posies at 607-863-4411.
