Maureen Ellen Bedell

Maureen Ellen Bedell, 77, of McDonough, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 6, 2017, at her home.

Born in Woodside, NY, on September 6, 1940, Maureen was the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Florence Jennings Masterson.  She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Greene, NY, and had worked at the Great American Supermarket in Greene for over 25 years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword and jumble puzzles, reading, watching her cooking shows, and tending to her garden.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Jeff) Romano, of Gurnee, IL, and Maureen Hendrickson, of Whitestone, NY.  She also leaves behind her grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Romano; a brother, Frank (Debbie) Masterson of Riverhead, NY; a sister, Dorothy Veri of Wayne, NJ; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Ronald Bedell, in 2008; a brother, Richard Masterson; and sisters, Joan Beck and Patricia Vaughan.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Monday, October 9, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, Greene, NY.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Maureen may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
