Melvin J. DuVall

Melvin J. DuVall, 74, of Willet, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 29, 2010, at his home.

Born in Rochester, NY on July 18, 1936, he was a son of the late Homer and Marjorie Thomas. He was active in the Tully, Preble, Virgil, and Willet Fire Departments and worked as an auctioneer throughout the area.

He is survived by his children, Crystal (James) Hill of Atwood, TN, Michael (Lisa) DuVall of Tully, Marjorie (Kevin) Long of Milan, TN, Kevin (Jeri Adams) DuVall of Willet, and Melody (Timothy) Barrows of Fabius; and 15 grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Joseph Thomas of Erieville and Raymond Thomas of E. Freetown; and a sister, Betty Sabin, of Cortland.

A memorial service will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Monday, December 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James Kane officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
