Michael A. Farenga

Michael A. Farenga, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the age of 65, at his home in South Otselic.  

Mike was born on January 10, 1959, in Passaic, NJ, the son of Salvatore and Barbara Randazzio Farenga.  After an admirable 33 years of service, Michael retired from Windstream where he had worked as an internet technician. His commitment and hard work were greatly appreciated by the company. Michael's perseverance and dedication inspire others to this day.  Throughout his life, Mike found great joy in the pursuit of hunting. He enjoyed spending time in nature, appreciating its beauty and the thrill of the hunt. His passion for this hobby brought him countless memories and fulfilled his adventurous spirit.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of seven years, Lynniece Haley Farenga.  He also leaves behind his mother, Barb Farenga of Cortland; his children Bridgette Burdin (Travis Duffy) of Canastota, Michael Farenga of Cazenovia, Alaina Farenga of Erieville,; his stepchildren Curtis Coughlin (Allison Piezzonka) of Rochester and Emily Coughlin (Jack Burton) of Cazenovia; his grandson Jamison Smith; his sisters Patti Beck (Jay) of McGraw, Debbie Farenga of Cortland, Barbie Farenga (Annie) of Cortland; and his stepbrother Rich Natelli of New Jersey. Michael's impact on their lives is immeasurable, and his memory will forever be cherished.

He was predeceased by his father, Salvatore Farenga.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m.
