Michael Anthony Minihan, 73, of North Pitcher, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6 2025, at his home, while surrounded by his loving daughters.
Michael was born on November 5, 1951, in Limerick, Ireland, the son of the late Gerard Charles Minihan and Joan Noonan Minhan. Michael was a man of great warmth and kindness, known for his dedication to family and his various passions.
After dedicating thirty years to the 32BJ Building Services Union in Manhattan, NY, Michael enjoyed a fulfilling retirement. He embraced entrepreneurship by owning and operating the Budget Shop, an antique store in North Pitcher. Through these endeavors, he left an indelible mark on the community, showcasing his commitment to service and craftsmanship.
A lover of nature, Michael cherished taking walks outdoors and often traveled to Rockaway Beach in Queens. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, frequently sitting on the front porch to enjoy the company of family and friends. His love for reading nourished his intellect and provided many hours of enjoyment.
Michael’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his daughters, Meghan Minihan of Binghamton and Amanda Minihan of Chenango Forks. He deeply adored his grandsons, Oliver and Milo Masker, who brought him immense joy and pride. Additionally, Michael is survived by his siblings: John Minihan, Claire Pang-Minihan, Deirdre Minihan, Patricia Minihan, and Harriet McDonnell, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Michael will be lovingly remembered for his gentle spirit, his dedication to family, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 1:00 p.m. at the K. L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY.
As we bid farewell to Michael, we honor his memory and the love he shared throughout his life. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.
