Patricia May Platt Hotaling, 83, of Solon, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at her home, while surrounded by her family.
Born in Cortland, NY, on September 10, 1934, Mrs. Hotaling was the daughter of the late Burton and Marion Elizabeth Platt. A lifelong resident of the area, she loved to crochet blankets for everyone and “brooms.” She worked on the family farm and then took a job with the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years, until her retirement. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she touched the hearts of many.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Hotaling, Sr.; and their eight children, JoAnn (Bill) Wyatt, Karen (Dale) Maricle, Bonnie (Bud) Bearup, Robert (Tina) Hotaling, Jr., Linda Hotaling, Lori (Dale) Jacobs, Patty (Gary) Norton, and Frank “Jake” (Brenda) Hotaling. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, June Mason, and her beloved pets, Junior and Dink.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Don and Herman Platt; and sisters, Charlotte Platt and Maude Parker.
