Pearl E. (Rose) Gillette, 78, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Cortland, NY, while surrounded by her family.
Pearl was born in Bainbridge, NY, on April 16, 1943, the daughter of the late Henry Rose, Sr. and Florence Furman Rose. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a spooler for E.L. Wood, Marathon, NY. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, and bowling.
She is survived by her children, James (Laurie) Coon of Virgil, John (Lynne) Coon of Whitney Point, and Janice (Richard) Moore of Cortland. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Ryan Randall, Michael Holmes, Kelly Hunter, Carrie Perry, Brad Coon, Amanda Coon, Aaron Coon, and Adam Coon; her great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kamyren, Jayce, Alexandria, Olivia, Matthew, Dustin, Dominic, Adalynn, Hugh, Abigail, and Emily; a brother, Carl (Doris) Rose of McGraw; sisters, Katherine Raymond of Pitcher and Clara Byron of Cincinnatus; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased a son, Jeffrey Coon; a granddaughter, Courtney Brown; brothers, Henry Rose, Jr. and Richard Rose; and a sister, Doris Tracy.
A graveside service will be held at the Taylor Rural Cemetery on Monday, July 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. There will be no prior calling hours or funeral services. Friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at the Cincinnatus Fire Station immediately following the graveside service.
