Rebecca L. Totman

Rebecca L. Totman, 59, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.

Becky was born in Cortland, NY, on October 20, 1959, the daughter of John and Virginia Hulslander House.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus where she served on various committees and assisted as a driving force during church dinners and booster club activities.  She worked closely with her husband, Phil, at the George Caldwell Agency and prior to that had worked as an assistant to Earl Durand on the Boldt Castle Project for several years.  Throughout the years, Becky took great pride in her baking abilities, providing wedding cakes and specialty cakes for various events, and was most well-known for her half-moon cookies and cinnamon rolls.  In her spare time, she shared her love of children and literature with the children’s group at the Kellogg Free Library during story hour.  A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Philip Totman; and her children, Jacob (Lindsey) Totman of Cortland and Kalli Totman of Minneapolis, MN.  She also leaves behind her mother, Virginia House of Cortland; her grandchildren, Ashton, Logan, Elliana, and Elise; a brother, Jon House of Cortland; an aunt, Lois (Ken) Alt of Cortland; an uncle, William (Gloria) Hulslander of Marathon; her mother-in-law, Elsie Totman of Cincinnatus; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Martha Hulslander, who shared her knowledge and love of baking with Becky.

Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 12:00 p.m.  The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 12:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Becky may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org or to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Elaine Oros, 5771 McFarlane Road, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
