Richard M. Landers

Richard M. Landers, 81, of Willet, NY, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.

Richard was born in Johnson City, NY, on March 31, 1939, the son of the late Merle and Jean (Peters) Landers.  He was a member of, and had served as the fire commissioner for the Willet Fire Department.  He was also a former member of the Willet Town Board and had previously been active with the youth commission.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carole (Bunting) Landers; and his sons, Darrell Landers and Douglas (Heather) Landers, all of Willet.  He also leaves behind a granddaughter, Brielle; b rothers, Gary Landers of Binghamton and Lory Landers of Herkimer; a sister, Barbara Varga of Whitney Point; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Richard may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
