Richard VanDusen, Jr.

Richard VanDusen, Jr., 75, of Homer, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, Syracuse, NY.

Born in Corinth, NY, on February 20, 1946, Richard was the son of the late Richard VanDusen, Sr. and Eunice Moumblo VanDusen.  He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era Conflict.  Richard had worked as a dairy farmer for 20 years before going to work for Suit-Kote until his retirement.  He was a member of the NYS Farm Bureau, the NYS Forest Owner’s Association, and a board member for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Davis VanDusen; and his sons, Daniel VanDusen of Cortland and Jeffrey VanDusen of Homer.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, William Hatheway, Jocelyn (Justin) Feller, Lindsey (Cody Hubert) VanDusen, and Daniel VanDusen II; his great-grandchildren, Jude Hatheway and Jensen Feller; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Peter VanDusen in 2003, and a granddaughter, Makayla VanDusen in 2014.
