Robert Glen Anderson

Robert Glen Anderson, 78, of German (McDonough), NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.

Bob was born in Norwich, NY, on January 21, 1941, the son of the late Harold A. and Winifred Thornton Anderson.  A longtime resident of the area, he retired from Chentronics in Norwich after several  years of service.  He had also been employed by the Chenango County Highway Department and Agway MTS in Cortland.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janette Johnson Anderson; and his children, Sandy (Wayne) Stone of Beverly Hills, FL, Clark Barker of Cortland, Denise (David) Ross of Whitney Point, and Kathy (Hilario) Martinez of Arkansas.  He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Roger (Diane) Anderson and Randy (Karen) Anderson; his sisters, Cheryl (Ron) Johnson and Beverly Peak; a sister-in-law, Kate Svenson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Carl Svenson; a sister, Mary “Tilly” Reynolds; and grandchildren, James Barker, Timothy Stone, and Christianna Scruggs; and a daughter-in-law, Wendy Barker.

A memorial service will be held at the German Baptist Church on Friday, December 27, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor George McKeel officiating.  The family will be present to receive friends at the church prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
