Robert W. Graves

Robert W. Graves, 57, of South Otselic, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at his home.

Bob was born in Norwich, NY on December 18, 1951, a son of Kenneth and Marie Wilcox Graves. For twenty years he was employed by W.F. Saunders Sand and Gravel and was a member of the Teamster's Union Local 317. Bob loved his New York Yankees and was especially fond of his pets, Ben, Gizmo, Crackers, Short, and Max. He loved his family and all of his friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marjorie Benson Graves of S. Otselic; his children, Kristy (Timothy) Gulbin of Ohio and Robert (KathyJo) Graves of S. Otselic; and his grandchildren, Kelsea Graves, Kailee, Madison, and Emma Gulbin. He also leaves behind his mother, Marie Graves, of S. Otselic; a sister, Kim (Derek) Smith of S. Plymouth; an uncle, Gene (Rosemary) Wilcox of DeRuyter; a brother-in-law, Ricky Benson of Beaver Meadow; a nephew, Joshua Smith of S. Plymouth; his mother-in-law, Betty Benson of Beaver Meadow; and several aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Graves, and his father-in-law, Coolidge Benson.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral service. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bob may be made to the S. Otselic Emergency Squad, S. Otselic, NY 13155. Arrangements have been entrusted to the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY.
