Robert A. Livermore

Robert A. Livermore, 97, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the NYS Veteran’s Home at Oxford, NY.

Mr. Livermore was born in Cincinnatus, NY of October 27, 1918, the son of the late George and Eva Bentley Livermore.  A lifelong resident of the area, he proudly served in the First Air Commando of the U.S. Army Air Corp during the Burma Campaign of WWII.  He was a member of the Knickerbocker American Legion Post #596, Cincinnatus, NY.  He retired from Grumman Boat, Marathon, NY, and also worked as a self-employed painter and wallpaper installer for several years.  Mr. Livermore was an avid baseball fan and, in his younger days, played for the town teams of Cincinnatus and Willet.

He is survived by his children, Oralee (Anthony) Adams of Vonore, TN, Kathy (Phil) McGrath of Whitney Point, Robert (Joanne) Livermore of Cincinnatus, and Tom (Dee) Livermore of Palmyra, TN.  He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a very special nephew, John "Brock" Livermore, as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Lucille Morey Livermore on April 4, 2015; brothers, Leonard, Louie, and Homer Livermore; and sisters, Dorothy Sedor, Ethel Hollern, Irene Fritz, and Florence McFarland.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Archie Smith officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will be in Wayside Rest Cemetery, Pharsalia.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Livermore may be directed to the Knickerbocker American Legion Post #596, c/o John Wall, P.O.
